The Covid-19 brought drastic changes in the world. not only is it affecting our health, but also it hurts the businesses.

Many large businesses got shut down and the layoff of employees is happening on a large scale. Besides, physical education and office working changed into virtual settings.

In the midst of all these, online business soared high in the sky because the online population increased massively than the previous years.

Consequently, marketers are using every social media platform for advertising their products and services.

You’ve noticed when you were watching a video on YouTube, suddenly in the middle, one or two ads were displayed. This doesn’t seem very pleasant, but these ads give great Return on Investments (ROI) to the firms.

So, we can say that digital marketing is promoting and expanding the products and services through internet service using technologies like tabs, laptops, PCs, etc. Moreover, digital marketing services are increasing the brand identity on a large scale meaning everyone in the world has access to commodities.

What Is Digital Marketing?

According to Investopedia, digital marketing is the use of the Internet, mobile devices, social media, search engines, and other channels to reach consumers.

It is different from the traditional marketing tools and is a way more influential and persuasive tool.

Digital marketing is now trending and is rising among marketers. This market focuses on a specific segment(s) of the firm that will bring more revenue.

I do not think that digital marketing is similar to internet marketing because, in Internet marketing, we promote products online, while in digital marketing, promotion of the goods is done through mobile phones, in a video game, or on a subway platform.

Types of Digital Marketing

There are two types of digital marketing, i.e., online digital marketing and offline digital marketing.

Online digital marketing services need the Internet in assisting marketing. It includes the following areas:

Search engine optimization (SEO):

It is simply the art of optimizing a website to appear on the first page of a search engine like Google, Bing, Mozilla, Safari, etc.

If you type ice-cream in the search query of the search engine, the robots of the search engine will analyze and use algorithms and then order the website according to their criteria and will give you all the websites that are related to ice cream and most people prefer websites that are placed on the top of the page.

With the help of keywords, blog commenting, link building, and internal links, SEOs bring the website to the top.

Search engine Marketing (SEM):

In this, the promotion of websites is done through paid advertisements.

SEM bids on keywords that search engines use when looking for a specific product(s). This gives

a chance to the SEMs to display their ads alongside the results.

The digital marketing services of SEM is to gain the attention of a motivated customer who is 100% going to buy your product(s).

Social media marketing:

It is advertising the ads on various social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tik Tok, Twitter, etc. You can use images, videos, or texts which medium suits best with the social media app that you are using.

Affiliate marketing:

According to Wikipedia, affiliate marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate’s marketing efforts.

If you want to increase your product sales, you can hire these people who’ll promote your products, or you can become a promoter and here the revenue is shared.

Email marketing:

It is simply marketing through sending emails about your company’s services. This marketing tactic is one of the easiest forms of online digital marketing services.

Offline digital marketing services are broadly divided into four categories, including.:

Enhanced offline marketing:

It’s doing marketing offline using enhanced technology like tablets, phones, etc.

Like a restaurant is taking feedback from customers through a tablet or iPad. Additionally, electronic billboards are also considered an offline marketing tool as they attract a vast number of targeted audiences.

Radio marketing:

Now we have the latest mobile phones, laptops, or PCs, but this doesn’t mean that people have stopped listening to radios; instead, people listen to radios more frequently, mostly while driving home.

In radio marketing, a reader uses a persuasive tone to read, and it is scripted in such a good way that it looks like it is the part of the radio show. Furthermore, you can organize a question and answers segment in the radio program to answer your customers’ queries.

TV marketing:

This offline digital marketing tool is the oldest form of marketing tool. However, this marketing strategy is declining because, day by day, fewer people are using TVs, and if they are using, the channels they are watching are based on the subscriptions to avoid watching ads.

Phone marketing:

People are using smartphones and spending more time using them than desktop PCs. So, marketers are focusing on smartphone marketing a lot.

Cold calling (in which a person calls an unknown person and persuades him or her to buy their products) and QR codes are some of the best examples of phone marketing.
